Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Scholarships

Each year, the HFMA Texas Gulf Coast Chapter awards scholarships to deserving students studying in Health Care Finance or Health Care Administration.

Students are asked to submit a typed, double-spaced essay detailing the reason they should receive a scholarship from HFMA. Applications are also to be accompanied by a professor's letter of recommendation and a copy of the transcript.

Students are evaluated against four criteria, weighted as follows:

  • Academic Achievement (40%)
  • Leadership Experience ((20%)
  • Community Involvement (20%)
  • HFMA Involvement (20%)

Scholarship awards are distributed at the June Meeting.

Non-Student Membership Scholarships
The Texas Gulf Coast Chapter offers a limited number of HFMA Membership Scholarships to individuals whose companies do not provide reimbursement for trade association memberships. These scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants who are non-students, employed by a provider organization, and who meet the other criteria as outlined in the application form.

Scholarship recipients will be responsible for $35 toward the scholarship and are expected to serve on an HFMA Texas Gulf Coast Chapter committee during the duration of the membership year.

Non-Student Scholarship Applications are due by April 15 of each year.
